Essays On Scientific Attitude-71
One of theories suggest that "attitude could explain human actions" (Ajzen and Fishbein,1980,p. This is the beginning point which made the social psychologists see attitudes as predictors of behaviours. Those ideas have been studied and ran on strong until the early 1960s (Kelli Mc Cormark Brow,1999,p.1) In 1969, Wicker has done the survey and literature review and he argues that attitudes are more likely to be unrelated or only slightly related to behaviours because the early theories present the relationship between attitudes and behaviours as a one-way association. The feeling of having social recognition, of being praised and of being safe does not mean freedom.

But if attitudes themselves were affected or influenced by past behaviours, the connection must be more intricate.

That mean even if we know attitudes, we still can just predict behaviour very weakly.

There has been lots of debate on the link between attitude and behaviour in in arena of consumer behaviour.

In 1862, psychologists introduced the theories that showed the relationship between attitudes and behaviours and these theories have been developed by a number of social psychologists through out the 19th century.

Enjoying our freedom does not mean that we disregard the rights of others and live the way we feel right.

We have to consider the rights and the feelings of people around us when living our freedom. So as a result of Wicker's argument there are others factors that have to be considered to predict behaviours more accurately.(Kelli Mc Cormark Brow,1999,p.1), 2 As a result of Wicker's argument Ajzen and Fishbein studied deeper the way how attitudes could affect behaviours. This is because it will be a complete chaos if we try understanding what everyone in the society wants to do.Thus, freedom is not an absolute right, and it too has some constraints.Freedom is an innate right which humans have since their birth. Different people have different opinion, definition and thoughts about the idea of freedom.Freedom is not something that can be touched, seen, felt or reached. Some talk about freedom in political sense, some talk about social freedom, some about personal independence and some define it as religious freedom.A popular saying goes: “Your freedom ends where mine begins”.All of us have our own thoughts and ideas of being free. But from social perspective, freedom is definitely something that a person is free to do while abiding by social customs and law of the country. No societies can guarantee absolute freedom to all social creatures.
