Every April, school librarians are encouraged to host activities and events to help their school and local community celebrate the vital role that strong school library programs play in transforming learning. Encourage students to use your library’s makerspace materials. It’s a great way for students and teachers to connect over their favorite books.
The 2019 theme is “Everyone Belongs @ Your School Library.” Here are 10 ideas to help you celebrate School Library Month and connect with students, educators and parents: 1. Invite students to suggest their favorite books for a display, along with a note about why they liked it and why they think others should read it. Give them a deadline for submissions, hang the finished posters around the library and invite students to vote for their favorite. Place a sign-up sheet in the library and on school bulletin boards.
My school has an excellent and well set-up library.
It consists of a large hall filled with shelves, bookstands and furniture. More than hundred students can use it at the same time. Every year the school purchases a good number of books.
The front section of the Library serves as Students Reading Room. Today the school syllabus and subjects being very vast, it is not possible to teach everything or deal with every aspect of the syllabus.

The stories’ section is the most sought after section of the library.The computer section in our school is said to be the best in the region.In this context school libraries have come to play a significant role in the present-day educational system.They are an integral part of the modern school setup.Today education is no longer a system of ‘cramming and filling students minds with information but rather it is a process of self discovery encouraging them to learn on their own.It is said, “What is taught is not caught but what is read remains”.
